Default FS '98 318ti Sport 5spd (front end damage)

01/15/11 - SOLD

--

wow, it's been a long time since i've posted... and sadly it's to post the ti up for sale.

VIN Decoding KC30713
'98 318ti, Mtech sport pkg, Manual Trans, Hellrot, 125k mi

--

got into a collision on xmas eve i've been getting ready to go teach english in korea and repairing/parting the car is out of the question. mechanically this daily driver still runs great, so hopefully it'll be a good chance for someone to pick up sport/5spd on the cheap. the title is a salvage, so please keep that in mind if re-sale is your objective.

yes, i did take it to a body shop and of course, i got quoted an insane amount of money. but they told me that the unibody front frame-rails look fine, but they did not use any laser aligning equipment so please take it for what it is. it drives/tracks straight and true afaict from experience.

please keep car's age in mind...
- the millpoint red interior is no longer in this car - i traded w/ a forum member for millpoint gray (pre-96) a few years back. the gray interior is in great condition (no cracks in leather, clean cloth, oem floor mats are very clean).
- the rear rotors and pads should be replaced - fronts are < 2 yrs old.
- cooling system flushed late '07
- no head unit or remote entry ecu (as a result of recent theft - needs center console faceplate)
- 1 set of key and fob
- exhaust rattle
- no major rust (the car is originally from california, and it's only been in chicago since summer '07)
- rear/driver wheel is off-balance
- mostly stock
- passenger side mirror glass fell off during collision

the car _IS_ perfectly driveable and there's no rubbing of the front/passenger wheel on the arch unless you go full-lock when turning. yes, you can pick it up and drive it off. having said that, you should obviously try to avoid high-speed driving for you own safety until repaired. just make sure your license/insurance is in order.

plz pm or post in the thread and i will answer your questions asap.

Wish you were parting it out. Would instantly buy the interior and rear bumper.
Good luck with the sale. Should be a quick one.

Hi, I'm interested in the car. I have to check on cost to deliver to Orlando though. I actually work in Seoul and can answer questions if you like. Tom

although i'm pretty close to finalizing w/ a buyer, i'll still post any info/pics requested until it's sold.

Thank you for the explanatory answer man! I've been visiting this forum for a year and most of the things I learned for the TI is from your posts, thanks

PS. My ti is absolutely stock, can you guys tell me any sites I can purchase some nice CAI,Exhaust, rims, springs maybe I've red so much stuff here that I'm confused> I know stromung is good. Is 235/40/18 good? I've found some nice replica rims, what should be the offset? tnx

no problem, just a tip since I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt, it's generally rude to post unrelated questions in a for sale thread
