I have been into the VW/Audi scene for a long time but this is my first BMW, I think it will be a fun car and I look forward to learning and contributing to this site. -Ben Wojcik p.s. Any questions? | | | 10-31-2006, 01:36 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Lincoln Park Capitol Hill, Washington DC Posts: 741 | Ben, welcome......just like me; I was a VW/Audi nut for a good 18 years. Had a 84 Rabbit GTI, 2 86 GTIs, 86 Audi 4000 and 92 Audi 90. Those were great cars, but my 97 318ti is by far the best: handling, tightness and built quality. You have the earliest M44 engine (at least stateside) and unfortunately no bolt-on "go fast" parts can make it any faster.....for cheap, just like VW/Audi's stuff. But, take it on autocross events and find out what it actually needs: suspension, better tires, etc. Although the Dinan S2 chip has made me very happy. Godd luck with it. __________________ It's always a great day to be underwater and play with the fish.....preserve our oceans and reefs" Fariz 1997 318ti, Hellrot (Bright Red), Dinan Stage 2 Chip 16x7 OEM sport Wheels/X-Brace/Custom Strut Brace/Cold Air Intake/M-Tec Steering Wheel/Koni Adjustable FrontShocks/ Bilstein Sport Rear Shocks /H&R Sport Springs/Custom fabricated strut tower brace/Rear Strut brace, Stromung Exhaust Future Mods: E46 17" wheels or Kosei K-1 17x8.5s | | | 10-31-2006, 03:35 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: 43609 Posts: 3,425 | Welcome to the club, enjoy your stay. __________________ 1995 Hellrot Clubsport 318ti -Gone 1996 Schwartz II Sport 357ti - 5.7L V8 LS1/6 1997 Moregrun Metallic 318ti - Gone 1998 Schwartz II sport 318ti - M50TUB25/5 | | | 10-31-2006, 04:43 PM | #6 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | Welcome to the site...... __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 10-31-2006, 05:07 PM | #7 | Junior Member Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Minnesota Posts: 11 | Thanks guys, I think my first mod will be suspension and then since my Ti is kind of a stripper model with hubcaps I am going to try and find some oem 16" wheels or maybe M wheels if I can find a good deal. I also have a cracked tail light, is there a place that I could find some red/clear or solid red tail lights for a good deal? | | | 10-31-2006, 07:16 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: Cincinnati Posts: 890 | Ebay has tons of those. They are reasonable. __________________ SOLD!!! 1999 332ti //M Sport Titanium Silver M3 S52 3.2 I-6 Engine, M3 Clutch w/ ti Getrag Trans, Z3 3.15 LSD medium case diff and half shafts, OEM Hatch Spoiler, Eurosport HP Underdrive Pulleys, FDM, 17" DS1 rims, M3 Front Struts & Springs, M3 Instrument Cluster, 3-spoke //M steering wheel with tri-color stitching, SSK, CCFL Angels in Depo projectors with 5k HIDs | | | 10-31-2006, 08:29 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: Pismo Beach, CA Posts: 500 | Do wheels before suspension if you have the hubcaps, IMO. You can have a real nice lowered set up, but with steels and caps, it still wont look good. __________________ Joe, In San Luis Obispo E30-> '96 TI sport -> E30 -> '96 TI | | | 11-07-2006, 07:59 AM | #10 | Member Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: New Jeru Posts: 33 | Quote: Originally Posted by pgh95ti Congratulations and welcome. | Ditto | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
