Hey guys! I'm kind of new to this forum and I'm still in the process of buying a ti. So I thought it would be neat to see how much you all valued the miles on these cars. Tell me what you guys think, how much do you think is mileage worth on a ti, in terms of money? In other words, what would be the MOST you would pay to have your car put into a time machine and miles taken off? I don't know how to start a poll so these are the choices...... 1) Nothing I'm fine with the mileage I have. 2) 1000 miles --- $100 3) 1000 miles --- $500 4) 1000 miles --- $1000 5) 100 miles ---- $1000 | | | 04-09-2009, 04:44 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Wisconsin Posts: 1,895 | Well, mine has a little over 80,000 miles on it, so if I could get it to zero for $8000 that would be a nice deal! $16,000 - still pretty sweet deal. __________________ ... ʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ | | | 04-09-2009, 05:05 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | Mileage isn't a major factor for me, it's care and maintenance over those miles. There is somewhat of a guide here: http://www.318ti.org/forum/showthread.php?t=7578 Just need to update the info. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 04-09-2009, 06:28 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Low mileage isn't necessarily better. Rubber cracks just sitting there. If the car has records, mileage doesn't scare me. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 04-09-2009, 06:35 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | Quote: Originally Posted by 1996 328ti If the car has records, mileage doesn't scare me. | same here, I have a big stack of paper of all the service records from the BMW dealer for my car from when it had 30k or so, I would have had it from when the car is new but the dealer upgraded to a new computer system at some point back then and lost the old records, 128k now and it runs just fine (at least it did when I stopped driving it last year) | | | 04-10-2009, 03:01 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Austin Posts: 3,059 | I pay gas to put miles on my car. Why would I pay to undrive those miles? I'm only kidding. Considering I'm just a student, and I really don't have much money, I'd be happy with the miles I have. __________________ Come get a ti-shirt Quote: From the e30 M3, evolved the e36. Currently, I'm driving a civic that has 230,000 miles on it and it has been unbelievably reliable, so high mileage cars don't really scare me. However, I know there are certain models of cars that can turn into major money pits with higher mileage. thanks for your responses so far. | | | 04-10-2009, 04:04 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | The ti has other issues. Headliner, loose door panels and crappy window regulators. The motors are solid. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 04-10-2009, 06:07 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Auburn, WA Posts: 1,814 | yeah mine just turn 188888 and runs super strong __________________ 5/96 318TI Sport BIG TURBO | | | 04-11-2009, 03:32 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: central ct Posts: 503 | i'd pay $1 per 1000 miles at best. anything else, isn't worth it. __________________ 2010 Genesis Coupe 2.0t track | 2000 Dakota Former 1995 318ti owner | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
