It's actually pretty under-stressed considering the amount of boost and compression ratio, so there actually should be some interesting modification opportunities there. The reason BMW limited its output was that they don't have a transmission for the e90 that can stand up to more power....yet. The e90 M3 will be a 410hp V8...basically 8 of the 10 cylinders of a current M5, along with a few more years of BMW developement.
