So it needs a rear muffler. I have not see a show me your exhaust thread and I planned to possibly use an E30 rear can since it has a E30 butt. Has anyone used a Stromung E30 rear mounted to a E36 OBD II cat section? | | | 10-21-2014, 04:17 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: LA, Bellflower, CA Posts: 3,613 | I believe the e30 muffler is a little too long to fit on the ti... Could be wrong but I've tried to fit an AC Schnitzer muffler from and older car on my to and it doesn't fit right. You can always use a Z3 exhaust, use a muffler from a 540i, I think the z4 exhaust might fit too, I've looked into the e46 exhaust but unsure of its dimensions (been looking at the e46 Remus exhaust) or go with a MagnaFlow 3 inch single inlet or 2.25 dual inlet (the sound pretty good). Have fun. Let us know what you do 👍 __________________ -Theta Chi- Float like a cadilac, sting like a BIMMER .... my socket is just too thick and won't fit in the hole! damnit! I have the Stromung but I purchased it for my Red M3. I'm gonna kick some ideas around | | | 10-22-2014, 06:28 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2008 Location: Globally Posts: 1,162 | Was thinking a 14815 Magnaflow since they are twin in and out. Have a custom shop do some mounts and fab the pipes to oem cats with vbands and done. | | | 10-23-2014, 04:52 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2014 Location: USA Posts: 444 | i have a custom exhaust from my s50 swap for sale let me know if this is something you are interested in | | | 10-24-2014, 06:12 PM | #7 | Member Join Date: Nov 2013 Location: RI Posts: 40 | I'm currently looking for a solution too. I have a stock obdii midsection right now hooked up to e36 m3 catback chopped right off before the exhaust (essentially straight piped). I'm leaning towards magnaflow based on the 24v videos I have heard on youtube and in person. Just need to find a dual inlet and single out to maintain the sleeper look. | | | 10-29-2014, 02:48 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2008 Location: Globally Posts: 1,162 | I was thinking of using the Z3M Coupe rear muffler as well, I'm on the road so I haven't even started squat which is irking me since winter is rapidly approaching. I volunteered for some ISIS missions and we have been busy so helps my wallet. | | | 10-29-2014, 03:08 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: LA, Bellflower, CA Posts: 3,613 | Yeah. A Z3M or z4 exhaust may work. I've been thinking the same thing for the future. Almost got my hands on a z4 remus muffler for $200 but the guy got it stolen from his backyard __________________ -Theta Chi- Float like a cadilac, sting like a BIMMER .... my socket is just too thick and won't fit in the hole! damnit!
