Default Style 29 wheels ...... Wheels On Car :D

Just thought i would post up some pics of the wheels i bought about two weeks back and ask if anyone else has these on their compact. Well I bought these wheels off ebay for abit too much maybe £30-£50 pounds too much and they looked like this ....

The wheel pictured there was probably the worst, I then set about trying to follow polishing guides on the internet which didnt really end well. Dont really have any pics of the failed endevour. I then followed a tip from one of my "friends" who said that i should get the wheels sand blasted . BIG mistake as they came back looking like .....

After this debacle and talking to a professional polisher i had to take the wheels apart and tear my knuckles and fingers into bits of meat. In the process i snapped one bolt on the wheels . Have no pics of them separated but i then sent the rims to be polished professionally who charged me £70 for all four. For anyone in the UK or specifically the Midlands they were sent to Rainbow Polishing only two guys but very very good at what they do.

The centres then went to be powder coated in bright silver which i was charged £60 for which wasn’t that bad really for all four. Again for UK people it was City Powder Coaters in Birmingham. I shall take pics of the centres today and post them up . Now im just waiting for the rims to come back and then i can put the wheels back together again .Just thought i would put some info up here as i usually just browse through . If anyone does want to know more just ask

If anyone has these on their car i would love to see pictures

Wow, those are some rare wheels in the USA. I believe they only came on the 1994 325is Mtechnic. Nice find, sounds like they will look great when done. You could probably get another bolt from BBS.

These are 17" wheels offsets 41 but im running stock suspension so it shouldnt be a problem.

no, if I had been on BF.C too much I would have told him to slam it to the point that it's undrinkable on any road that hasn't been freshly paved

heh heh... I don't think I've ever seen the term "undrinkable" used to describe a car.

bahahaha!! I typed "undrivable" which FF doesn't recognize as a real word and without thinking I just right-clicked and chose the first spelling correction without even reading it, oops

The funny thing is that "undrinkable" makes some sense in the context it was used. I.e., if the car is too low, it'll ride really rough and you won't be able to drink in the car while it's moving. :-)
