Default 42 pin ABS / ASC controller

Greetings from India. I recently picked up a 1992 318i and am in the process of restoring and upgrading it.

One of the upgrades I am very keen on is the addition of ASC to the existing 3 channel ABS. To that end, I got myself a 4 channel hydraulic ABS module with a 55 pin ABS controller.

While going through the Bentley service manual, I found a specific module that came on late 1996 and 1997 318ti models that was capable of CAN communication and did NOT require a secondary throttle body. This is what I decided to go with because I am going to be throwing out the stock ECU anyway, and don't want an ABS module freaking out because it cannot detect stuff that doesn't exist.

After some searching, RealOEM gave me part number 34521164899. This is a brown label, single connector, 42 pin unit. Digging around on eBay US, I found a similar looking unit with number 34521164137.

Is anyone here running a car with either or these part numbers? I would like to clarify a few doubts before I pull the trigger.

Thanks in advance.
