Default Not starting...

I changed my starter last week...on my way home in 3rd gear I felt that my clutch pedal went dead...so I pulled over and stopped the car...and I couldn't start the car but it seems like all the pressure in the clutch was lost...

I changed my slave cylinder...had trouble bleeding it and but have good pressure in the pedal now...

anyways I'm tried to started it and the battery was dead as a door nail...so i tried jumped it with a '95 525...all that happens is it clicking...

I am about to bring it in to a shop...please help me out with some of your great advice...

sounds like a bad ground. If your battery is dead and the car will not start even after being jumped you might have a bad ground connection check the starter connections one more time.

I really don't think it is the starter...as I was putting it back together I started the car many times and it turned the fly wheel...

It is your battery.

This person had your exact problem - wouldn't jump either.

Iv had this problem if you test the battery and it shows a full charge and a charge going into it. This means the battery is bad, i would just replace it...

UPDATE

so i got a new battery and tried to start the car. The starter would spin but the solenoid wouldn't engage THEN when i took the key out the starter wouldn't stop spinning so i disconnected the battery. I let it sit for 30 mins and tried again...as soon as i turned the key in to the ignition position everything shorted out no lights or anything anywhere...

I am about to give up...except it's thanks giving tomorrow so no shops are going to be open...and if you guys had more input I'll have to try...

Sorry to hear that.

Sounds like you had a bad battery AND a bad starter.

Have you checked the fuses?

Hopefully you can put in a new fuse and try again, but it sounds like that starter is acting up.

Can you get a friend to disconnect the battery if the starter sticks again?

It sucks that you can't just turn the key off and have the thing stop spinning.

I've never had the starter off my 318ti.

How long would it take to get it off and have it tested?

I think Autozone can test it.

Autozone will test it...and I'm such a pro at taking my intake manifold off now that I could do it...I'll let you guys know what ends up happening...and no I haven't had a chance to check the fuses...

when it all shorted out I just went to school...

Im calling a bad engine ground. May sound dumb, but take the jumper cables, run it from the negative battery terminal, and ground it to the block somewhere, like the engine mount, either side. See what happens.

i came down fuel was leaking EVERYWHERE

fuel lines to fuel rails weren't tight enough

but everything is fine and I have NO IDEA what was wrong....
