Default S14 Camshaftts?

Will s14 cams fit directly in the m42 and make a difference like Shrick cams would do?

Also, does anyone know how big the injectors are and interchangeable right or would I need the s14 fuel rail?

Might wanna hit up some e30 M3 fanatics, they tend to know stuff like this in their sleep since they work with S14s and swapped cars all the time. Was the m42 in the e30 318 as well or was that a M20 or something?

the s14 cams cannot be fitted into a m42.

the s14 engine is a based on a modified m10 block mated to a dohc motorsport head which is derived from a m88/s38 m5 engine with the last two cylinder deleted. where else the m42 is based on the smaller m40 block. both engine have different cylinder center distance measurements.

The story on the S14 (original M3 engine) is one of those classic skunk works development stories that just happened to solidify a new class of car. They took the original M5 6 cyl and literally cut 2 cylinders off of it, started there and finished 2 weeks later. I think the whole story was written up in Roundel recently but cannot remember.
