Question Rear suspension noise

Whenever i get in or out of my 95 318TI it sounds like a rusty door hinge. I don't notice the sound while driving. Any ideas?

you have a friend that can help isolate the area it's coming from? it would help a lot to know the general area. that's the only time you hear something, when getting in/out? does it do it every time?

One of the shocks is probably dead, as i found out with mine a couple of months ago. Does your car twitch when hitting bumps on the road?
If it does......that's the cause.
Also check the Shock mounts and trailing arms bushings.
Good luck......

Push down on the rear of the car. Does it squeak? Now release the parking brake and try it again.

My car squeaks when the parking brake is engaged, but not when it's on.

Thanks Cirrus, that is the problem. Now my next question is, can this be fixed with an adjustment or do parts need to be replaced?
