I own this gem right now! It was bought by a guy from Seattle WA, who drove it back from California. He claims he bought it to do the S50 swap but then "realized" it was a clubsport and decided to sell it rather than butcher it. The car is now in my hands, and I love it! Being new to 318ti's I had a few questions. The OP mentions issues with the kidney grills. The ones on this car do stick out, or rather they dont fit the slots. Would this be fixed by new grill pieces, or is the piece that is holding them in warped? The OP mentions bushing and tie rod replacement kit, could someone point in the right direction here? Should I buy tie rod bushings, or a new tire rod, or both? The OP's post is extremely accurate. This car is a gem, with minor issues. The sunroof issue still persists (not sure what's going on). The speakers do go in and out. The door panels are a little loose. The important bits though work perfectly for a car this old, and it's a blast to drive. | | | 07-10-2015, 11:04 PM | #21 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Sounds like he installed the wrong kidney grilles. You may have grilles for a car after 09/1996. Door panels loose. They all do that. Speakers. The rear cones tear. Every ti is a project car. Welcome. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 07-11-2015, 02:15 AM | #22 | Member Join Date: Aug 2014 Location: MA Posts: 41 | I miss my ti project car. My friends remind me how much of a pita it was, but it was so different I loved it. I also love all e36s though so... | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
