Default weird noise occasionally eminates from brakes.

there is a weird vibrating noise that comes from my ti when i apply brakes a t extremely low speeds almost near 0. its hard to describe. kind of like abs going off. a pulsating of a type. sounds like an electric motor being restricted and slipping. like if u were to prevent it from spinning. but the noise if very loud and sometimes it stay even after i let go of the brake pedal. another problem with has got me dumbfounded. i dont know what it is and it doesnt seem to hinder performance at all. brakes work like a charm on cruising speeds and even high speeds.

is it a manual? if it is that's normal, it's coming from the engine turning over slowly, not from your brakes

yes, clutch in braking or clutch out in neutral but the only consistency is that its when car is about to come to a halt from a roll.

hard and soft but like i said only at speeds approaching 0 nothing above 20mph. it seemed to come from the brake pedal area at first but after i took out my rear seats and stripped out the trunk its clear it coming from the rear

I have this very same problem..the car is vibrating, pulsating, like the ABS are kicking in, but Im not applying the brakes, and my ABS light is on. When I shut off my car, the noise continues. I popped the hood, and found the part thats running, but Im not sure what it is. Its a black cyclinder w/ numbers on it: 34.51-1162 291 and 10.02020143.4.Looks like we're headed to the dealership on this one. Anyone have any suggestions??! Thanks!!

Well, upon some translating of a German Ebay page..I found the parts are my ABS pump and ABS Hydraulic Block. Any suggestions why they are failing?

Jack up the rear and try and spin the rear tires.

Rear caliper/parking brake may be locked up (not enough to really slow the car), heating up the rotor and literally burning out the pump/hydraulics.

i had mine checked out by a local euro car specialist and he told me it was the abs pump and needed replacing. he said a new one wud be about 2000 but i found one on ebay for 100 but ive yet to do anything. i removed the ABS ASC fuse and now running without abs and asc. the noise is gone so it was def the abs. i will have to eventually replace it because i dont thinks it can be fixed.
