This is for a COP conversion. Looking for the connector that's on the M44 coil pack. It's got to be available from BMW, possibly on another car. There has to be a source, but I doubt the one person that knows will cough up the info. I am not very familiar with other BMW models. But what I've found is a few similar connectors, but I'm not sure of the pins are the same. I found this on inofficialbmw, from what I read, it's 1990 325i Looks really similar. Does anyone have any idea if it's the same or what other models would use the same connector? Or if someone with a cop kit can see if there is a PN on the connector? __________________ No more ti. | | | 11-13-2011, 03:18 AM | #2 | Member Join Date: Aug 2011 Location: Long Beach CA Posts: 88 | I'll have a look at mine tomorrow | | | 11-14-2011, 07:39 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: NJ Posts: 106 | I never could find one. I ended up mocking up the setup by cannibalizing a failed coil pack. The coil pack is potted, so it's a messy time consuming job. I've asked the source you made reference to and never got a reply. __________________ Mods: DASC, NickG Stage II DME software, 30# injectors, RRFPR removed, DISA Simulator, Secondary Air Pump relocated, bypass cooling hose removed, Fogged airbox, Bosch silver sparkplugs (F6DSR), Magnecore sparkplug wires (KV85), SeattleCircuit mpg adjuster circuit; Textar CeramicFusion brake pads; S/E/M auto trans selector with Euro software TCU; Royal Purple trans (MaxATF) & diff fluids; Koni FSD (F&R); Rogue RSMs; Strong Strut; Butt Strut; Bridgestone Fuzion ZR1 225/50/16 on Style 42's; hardtop; Footwell lighting; Interior lighting On/Off switchable; Euro intermittent wipers; Padded LeatherZ arm rests; Sisa Design Cabrio Wind Deflector; | | | 11-14-2011, 09:02 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: MD/PA/DC Posts: 1,629 | Quote: Originally Posted by Monolith I never could find one. I might just lose that connection and bring it right into the harness box on the firewall. I've dug around looking at amphenol connectors, but haven't found a match yet. __________________ No more ti. | | | 11-14-2011, 09:25 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: NJ Posts: 106 | I bought some weatherpack connectors as an alternative. They make 6 connector setups (you need 5 including the shield ground) in a round form factor. __________________ Mods: DASC, NickG Stage II DME software, 30# injectors, RRFPR removed, DISA Simulator, Secondary Air Pump relocated, bypass cooling hose removed, Fogged airbox, Bosch silver sparkplugs (F6DSR), Magnecore sparkplug wires (KV85), SeattleCircuit mpg adjuster circuit; Textar CeramicFusion brake pads; S/E/M auto trans selector with Euro software TCU; Royal Purple trans (MaxATF) & diff fluids; Koni FSD (F&R); Rogue RSMs; Strong Strut; Butt Strut; Bridgestone Fuzion ZR1 225/50/16 on Style 42's; hardtop; Footwell lighting; Interior lighting On/Off switchable; Euro intermittent wipers; Padded LeatherZ arm rests; Sisa Design Cabrio Wind Deflector; | | | 11-14-2011, 11:04 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Oxford, Ohio Posts: 868 | Maybe you could buy BMW part no 61138353732 and see what markings are on it. This is the part number for the other side of that connector (I believe). That part costs less than 3 bucks. | | | 11-14-2011, 11:24 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: MD/PA/DC Posts: 1,629 | Hmm, interesting Dave. That is used on a lot of cars. One of them HAS to have the other sex connector. Hmm, interesting. It's used on an E38 seat adjustment switch.... I bet that has the opposite sex.... Connector is a 7 pol if that helps any. __________________ Mods: DASC, NickG Stage II DME software, 30# injectors, RRFPR removed, DISA Simulator, Secondary Air Pump relocated, bypass cooling hose removed, Fogged airbox, Bosch silver sparkplugs (F6DSR), Magnecore sparkplug wires (KV85), SeattleCircuit mpg adjuster circuit; Textar CeramicFusion brake pads; S/E/M auto trans selector with Euro software TCU; Royal Purple trans (MaxATF) & diff fluids; Koni FSD (F&R); Rogue RSMs; Strong Strut; Butt Strut; Bridgestone Fuzion ZR1 225/50/16 on Style 42's; hardtop; Footwell lighting; Interior lighting On/Off switchable; Euro intermittent wipers; Padded LeatherZ arm rests; Sisa Design Cabrio Wind Deflector; | | | 11-14-2011, 11:49 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: MD/PA/DC Posts: 1,629 | Hmm... 23 looks promising, so does 8... 23 doesn't have a PN listed though.... __________________ No more ti. | | | 11-14-2011, 11:54 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: MD/PA/DC Posts: 1,629 | Thanks monolith.
