I'm looking at a '98 318ti with 79,000 miles and a blown head gasket. I'm not sure what other damage could be waiting under the hood due to the blown head gasket. What kinds of things should I look for? Also, why would it have blown in the first place? Should I look into buying this car or avoid it? Any advice? | | | 11-02-2004, 12:44 AM | #2 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! My dad has a buddy at the dealership where he bought his 318ti. The guy bought this one from another customer. He's asking $6500 after they fix the head gasket. It blue books higher than that so as long as they fix it right it should be fine I assume. Since my dad knows the guy it makes me feel better, I doubt he'd screw a friend, but you never know. | | | 11-02-2004, 05:21 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Saint Paul, MN Posts: 3,244 | What's their price as is with the blown head gasket? Find a reliable shop and I bet you'll come out even better. Less $$ and you'll know who did the repair. __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
