Default new to bmw tuning, just checking information on setup.

I picked up a 92 e36 318is with the m42 in it with plans to turbo it and make a budget drift car out of it.

a couple of questions, how do I tune it with a turbo, is the stock ecu capable of reading low boost? my understanding it that I can run up to 10 psi with nothing more then a rrfpr. am I correct in this?

also when I route the piping I assume I cant use the stock maf, so what do I use instead and where do I put it before or after turbo, blow thru/vs draw through?

and I belive the stock injectors and fuel pump are ok up to that 10 psi mark correct?

thanks for your help guys

You would want to have the MAF blow through after the intercooler. Use 2.5" piping and you will be able to use couplers to install the MAF. Stock is 19# injectors. I don't like using a RRFPR however you can and see how it runs. If it is choppy or surging under boost (part-throttle) you will need larger injectors and a tune plus you can do a 3" MAF at that time. Tuning a WAR chip yourself or getting a tune from Midnight will be the best if you need larger injectors & MAF

Best, John S
