Inside was the original brochure for the 1998 model year 318ti. It has lots of good info on features, specs and color available for that year. If anyone is interested, I can scan the pages. __________________ 1998 (July) 318ti, 5-spd OEM Armrest Blaupunkt Heidelberg CD50 CD Player/Compact Drive MP3 Player Diamond Audio 5.25" rear speakers Navman ICN 530 GPS BMWALARM.COM (with comfort settings) after market alarm system Magnecor 8.5mm wires M-Z3 Shifter/Momo Knob Burlwood Dashboard Stromung Exhaust X-brace Racing Dynamics Front Strut Bar Carbonio C.A.I. 17" Rial Rims Vader Seats/Heated/Lumbar Support M-tech Steering Wheel/Front Sway Bar/Front & Rear Bumper Depos/w 6500K Angel Eyes/6000K HIDs Clear Corners M3 Mirrors UUC Light Weight Flywheel/M5 Clutch/M3 Clutch Slave E28 3.46 LSD/Mcoupe Cover/E30 Flanges & Halfshafts UUC S.S. As an extension to this, I have a copy of the Getting To Know Your Vehicle 'tape' that BMW gave with our 318ti's and was gonna rip it into an mp3 file and post it as well...I was gonna do this anyway because I wanted to transfer onto CD. If anybody wants a copy (of the mp3), let me know...lates...motorwerk | | | 05-19-2005, 05:38 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Manassas, VA Posts: 4,129 | Actually, I have the tape too, but didn't have a way of converting it. L8, scan 'em up. if you need larger temporary upload size capability, let steven know so we can get them loaded up here for all to see | Hey cali-ti: I'd probably convert from a pure analog tape source to digital (.wav format) and then use a sound editor (Sound Forge) to convert to mp3 since the file size will be considerably smaller than keeping it in .wav format. I'll use VBR encoding. It should be easy to convert between .mp3 and .wav format without losing too much quality (especially for speech-type recording). Let me know if this will work for you...I'ma try this over the weekend...motorwerk | | | 05-19-2005, 06:36 PM | #7 | aka Stabby Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Mead, CO Posts: 5,336 | how long is the tape? let me know how big the resulting wav file is as i may try to get that from you. there are a couple free lossless encoders (if you're interested). i'm an anal-retentive super freak ... i'm actually going to rip my entire cd collection with lossless encoding as i get time (i have over 600 cds). __________________ 1996 318ti, California package, 267k miles current mods: bilstein sports, bavauto springs, e30 m3 LCABs, solid metal ball joints, bavauto RSMs w/reinforcements, e30 3.73 LSD & halfshafts, supersprint cat-back exhaust, turner rear sway bar reinforcements, IE poly subframe & RTABs + camber/toe kits, powdercoated e36 32x front calipers, sport mirrors, H&R 28mmF/19mmR sway bars, x-brace, auto solutions SSK w/poly bushing upgrade, BMW CD43 head unit, DICE HD Radio w/iPod integration and "stealth" HD antenna, staggered style 68s, orange electronic TPMS, leather arm rest, JT Designs metal undertray acquired and awaiting install: heated seat kit, cali top switch relo, lumbar support kit, park distance control kit, heated washer nozzle kit, m-coupe rear subframe, trailing arms, differential, and halfshafts, m-coupe front/rear brakes with master cylinder, under hood light kit, mud flaps, rear sun blind, auto-dimming rear view mirror, tilt steering wheel retrofit, apexcone 5000K HIDs with 55W ballasts 2002 X5 4.4 Sport Package, 53.5k miles Current Mods: e46 m3 steering wheel | | | 05-19-2005, 06:42 PM | #8 | Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: SoCal Posts: 61 | Quote: Originally Posted by cali-ti how long is the tape? let me know how big the resulting wav file is as i may try to get that from you. there are a couple free lossless encoders (if you're interested). i'm an anal-retentive super freak ... i'm actually going to rip my entire cd collection with lossless encoding as i get time (i have over 600 cds). | Hey cali-ti, Your guess is as good as mine?! Don't know how long the recording is as I haven't actually listened to it. In either case, I will let you know how big the file is (.wav) once I do this. By no means though is it gonna be anywhere 'perfect' (tape > cd) but I'll try my best to get a clearest capture audio quality...will let you know...lates...motorwerk | | | 05-19-2005, 06:44 PM | #9 | aka Stabby Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Mead, CO Posts: 5,336 | hehe ... yeah, i know i don't expect that when i play it on my hi-fi that it'll sound like the person is standing in front of me in the room like with a very well recorded piece of music. thanks for your time and effort to make this available __________________ 1996 318ti, California package, 267k miles current mods: bilstein sports, bavauto springs, e30 m3 LCABs, solid metal ball joints, bavauto RSMs w/reinforcements, e30 3.73 LSD & halfshafts, supersprint cat-back exhaust, turner rear sway bar reinforcements, IE poly subframe & RTABs + camber/toe kits, powdercoated e36 32x front calipers, sport mirrors, H&R 28mmF/19mmR sway bars, x-brace, auto solutions SSK w/poly bushing upgrade, BMW CD43 head unit, DICE HD Radio w/iPod integration and "stealth" HD antenna, staggered style 68s, orange electronic TPMS, leather arm rest, JT Designs metal undertray acquired and awaiting install: heated seat kit, cali top switch relo, lumbar support kit, park distance control kit, heated washer nozzle kit, m-coupe rear subframe, trailing arms, differential, and halfshafts, m-coupe front/rear brakes with master cylinder, under hood light kit, mud flaps, rear sun blind, auto-dimming rear view mirror, tilt steering wheel retrofit, apexcone 5000K HIDs with 55W ballasts 2002 X5 4.4 Sport Package, 53.5k miles Current Mods: e46 m3 steering wheel | | | 05-19-2005, 06:56 PM | #10 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | When i bought my car it came with tyhat in the glove box. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
