I am assuming that based on what you told me earlier you did not install either the bottom or top spring pad? Please correct me if I'm wrong. | | | 06-24-2012, 06:35 PM | #66 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2011 Location: NJ USA Posts: 159 | Spring pads I think you might have problems without both spring pads. I left the original OEM pads in. __________________ Happiness is not around the corner, it is the corner | | | 06-24-2012, 06:48 PM | #67 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2008 Location: miami Posts: 232 | I see so you left both the top and bottom pads on the rear springs? I've been reading and a lot of people seem to remove these. Usually to lower the car a tad. | | | 06-24-2012, 06:58 PM | #68 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2011 Location: NJ USA Posts: 159 | Search You can search here to find various threads on using thinner or thicker than OEM original pads to lower or raise the car. __________________ Happiness is not around the corner, it is the corner | | | 06-24-2012, 07:04 PM | #69 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2008 Location: miami Posts: 232 | You are correct. I've got all the information through searches. They offer a 5,7.5, and 10 mm spring pads. My main concern was always that my car had a pretty bad rake. Your car on the other hand even though you and I have the same suspension setup sat much lower in the back counteracting the rake effect. I thought you had removed the bottom spring pad due to an earlier post and so I did that and it sits much better with no noise or creeks. However, now your telling me that you do indeed have both spring pads. I'm a bit confused. | | | 06-24-2012, 07:08 PM | #70 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2011 Location: NJ USA Posts: 159 | yes, both pads on are on but the smaller 5 variety. __________________ Happiness is not around the corner, it is the corner | | | 07-20-2012, 03:01 AM | #71 | Member Join Date: May 2012 Location: Washington Posts: 46 | Wow... I sold the car about 2 months ago. It was a fun build and even better driving it. I moved to 4X4 heaven and bought a restored '76 Ford Bronco. Thanks everyone! __________________ Happiness is not around the corner, it is the corner | | | 12-10-2013, 12:32 AM | #73 | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2013 Location: NJ Posts: 11 | RCV7, Thanks for pointing me to your thread. I read Jim's manual, and I can see that reading about your experience and the experiences of others will help me with my build.
