Up for sale is the car my daughter drove while she was in med school. It's been in our family for about five years, and with the majority of maintenance done by me. After she graduated and started residency last year, she replaced it with something newer, and it has been doing a lot of sitting; time for it to be of use to someone else.
I last saw the car in July, and it is in good mechanical condition, and decent shape cosmetically. The Hellrot paint is presentable, but with a few spots of rust in the usual places (at the bottom of the rear hatch, at the tops of the rear wheel arches, driver's door bottom, and where the radio antenna mounts on the rear fender.) The beige vinyl interior is in decent condition.
It has had the following maintenance done/parts replaced in the last few years:
2015 - New alternator
2014 - New shocks, front and back
2014 - replaced front sway bar mounts, sway bar links and sway bar bushings
2014 - Installed PowerFlex front control arm bushings
2014 - Replaced tie rods and steering rack boots & had wheel alignment done
2014 - Replaced oil filter canister gasket
2013 - Cooling system rebuild; replaced radiator, thermostat & thermostat housing, water pump, all hoses and plastic connectors in the cooling system.
2013 - New battery
2013 - replaced left window regulator
2012 - new tires
Just before we returned to Europe in July, I learned that the right-side window regulator had broken, so I ordered a new one, but it didn't arrive in time for me to install it. I had hoped my son would do the job, but... The part is in the car, ready to be installed. I also noticed the CEL was on; I put a code reader on it, and the codes were P0300, P0302, & P0303; 300 is the code for multiple misfires, and 302 & 303 indicate that the misfires occurred on cylinders 2 & 3. I didn't know how long the codes had been there, so I reset them and did not see the CEL again before I left. It started fine, idled smoothly, and pulled decently up to redline, just as it did when we first got it about 60,000 miles ago.
I can answer any questions you have here, but if you'd like to make arrangements to see & drive the car (and maybe purchase it), I'll put you in touch with my daughter and her hubby in Omaha. I'm living in Germany now, and am helping her & her hubby sell the car, but much as I'd enjoy spending 10 hours in a pressurized aluminum can in close proximity to numerous complete strangers, I won't be making a transAtlantic flight to show the car.
