I really want to get fog lights for my car, but I have no clue if my car is prewired for the fog lights of if I have to wire them myself. I figured it wasnt prewired yet so I found this on ProCarParts that I really like. Its $126.49 though....is that too much for fog lights? I like the clear crystal look....im not much for that reflector looking lense that comes on bmw from the factory. So my question is how do I determine if my car is prewired?? Thanks in advance guys. -Niki PS: Does anyone have this style on their ti or BMW in general? I would really like to see how they look and your thoughts on them. __________________ my new world | | | 07-31-2005, 06:25 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Tampa, FL Posts: 677 | no one can help me? __________________ my new world | | | 07-31-2005, 07:01 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Nope. I've heard there are no more in the US though. Full dealer price was around $180 - $200. __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 08-01-2005, 06:03 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Tampa, FL Posts: 677 | Thanks guys, has anyone installed them themselves before? It is a PITA job if done right. Fog lights are designed [and by US law] to go off when your have your highbeams on. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 08-01-2005, 04:29 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Bremerhaven, Germany Posts: 977 | Quote: Originally Posted by 1996 328ti Fog lights are designed [and by US law] to go off when your have your highbeams on. | Or the fog lights were (re)designed for the U.S. The front fog lights on European BMWs stay on, since by law they must operate independently of the low and high beams. | | | 08-01-2005, 06:20 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Saint Paul, MN Posts: 3,244 | Quote: Originally Posted by bmwracerchick Thanks guys, has anyone installed them themselves before? I just went to the dealership today and it is $199 for the kit, I just wanted to make sure....to bad they arent nice and install it for you. While I was there I got a license plate delete strip because someone stole my kick ass license plate my boyfriend gave me. So until I get a new one im going plateless in the front. __________________ my new world | | | 08-02-2005, 08:38 AM | #15 | Junior Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: Seattle, WA Posts: 24 | i do a lot of business at this local shop and they specialize in bimmers, i also know the guy, he only charges like 40-55 bucks an hour (depending on his mood lol) and he's hella pro, i bet he's done it before. i'll call and ask about it sometime this week | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
