If the wheels are stock I'd say it's an active.
Do you have an computer and cruise?

It looks the rear skirt has been re-painted. The contrast strip should go around the back.
Otherwise it looks like my Active.

It's a 95... they can be tricky. Post some interior shots.

The battery in my digicam just died so I will post interior pics later.
It does have cruise and sunroof.
I'm not sure if it has a computer though. How would I find out
The clock has a button that says S/R, but does nothing when pressed
The temp reads -40 all the time
The rear skirt looks to be original paint/color

Active.
-40F. You are probably missing the temp sensor in your brake duct.

Is it possible that also has to do with the brake light on the dash. I had the car inspected and they said it needed brakes, but I haven't noticed any braking issues while driving.

Brake warning lights are generally worn brake pad or low fluid.
That sensor is brake pad.
Could be a bad sensor too. You'll be able to stop but once you get to metal you will score your rotors.

The two are unrelated.

I'll recheck the fluid. I already bought rotors and pads for all 4 corners from a former ti owner. Come to think of it, the car came with a set of pads (F&R). I only have one sensor, so I gotta research how many sensors I need for a complete brake job.

Two sensors. Front left, rear right. <I think>.
