As soon as I stop turning the key, the windows stop going up __________________ Joe, In San Luis Obispo E30-> '96 TI sport -> E30 -> '96 TI | | | 06-29-2005, 04:46 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Detroit, MI Posts: 585 | i can do that also, but sometimes if i hold it in the locked position for a certain amount of time and then take it out before the windows are even close to being rolled up. they keep on going automatically | | | 06-29-2005, 05:43 AM | #4 | islander on the mainland Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: SF Bay Area Posts: 286 | I'm able to remove my key and roll up/down the windows and open/close my top. So, long as I don't open a door, the power still works. I haven't checked to see how long it lasts, but definitely long enough to close the windows and my top after parking. __________________ moku 1996 318ti Cali Top w/ Downing/Atlanta Supercharger 2003 M3 w/ CSL trunk, splitters, & diffuser | | | 06-29-2005, 09:03 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Tampa, FL Posts: 677 | I cant do this with my car I dont think, do I have to wait a certain amount of time? I have a 95..I dont know if that option was available to my year. | | | 06-29-2005, 10:08 PM | #6 | Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: Western New York Posts: 31 | Wow... I thought this was a standard feature. I can still roll my windows up and down with the key out as long as I do not open my door after turning the car off. Something that is really handy. I have a '96 ti. | | | 06-30-2005, 12:05 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Detroit, MI Posts: 585 | this is while your out of you car while your key is in the driver or passenger side door and turning it to the locked position. not inside the car. when im outside and i lock it all the windows will go up when im walking away with my keys in my hand. but that doesnt always work^^ | | | 06-30-2005, 12:28 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Tampa, FL Posts: 677 | im curious now, im gonna go see if mine work. __________________ my new world | | | 06-30-2005, 01:10 AM | #9 | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Bklyn Posts: 29 | I tried it on my 95 ti. It'll roll up as long as you have the key in the lock. I have no luck with it working with the sunroof. I definitely can't open the windows with the keys. It'll be great on those hot summer day, when you need to cool off the interior before getting in. As for it closing all the way automatically, I don't know how to do that, but from my experiment I couldn't figure it out. | | | 06-30-2005, 03:32 AM | #10 | islander on the mainland Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: SF Bay Area Posts: 286 | Okay, so you're talking about outside of the car. For me, it only works if I have the key in the lock. Sometimes if the lock sticks while I'm removing the key, the windows will continue to go up, but regularly that doesn't happen. __________________ moku 1996 318ti Cali Top w/ Downing/Atlanta Supercharger 2003 M3 w/ CSL trunk, splitters, & diffuser | | | 06-30-2005, 05:07 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Detroit, MI Posts: 585 | that makes me feel better. so it is more than likely that it just sticks. bc about 25 mins ago it just did it to me and i havent been able to replicate it. so hopefully no major problem? even though this is the simplest car to work on | | | 06-30-2005, 10:54 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Essex UK Posts: 164 | Global closing/opening Best regards David | | | 06-30-2005, 02:27 PM | #13 | Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: Western New York Posts: 31 | Hmmm... misunderstood the question too... I will have to try this out on my car as I never knew it was an option. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
