Stock Xenon Headlamps?

I recently saw an ad in the local AutoTrader for a black '98 318ti. The pictures show discrete M3 badging on the side panels, slightly flared rocker mouldings and 5-spoke rims. All signs point to a 318ti Sport (anyone can feel free to correct me).

One thing that stood out in the ad, though, is that the vehicle was factory equipped with xenon headlamps. Is this a typo, or were there 318's that actually rolled out equipped as such? From the looks of it, it doesn't look like it was modded in any way.

Xenon lights were not available on the 318ti in 1998 (I don't think they were ever available for ti's globally, but I'm not 100% sure, since individual was available in Germany for sure...). I ordered mine new, and aware of all the options for '98...

Most likely genuine BMW parts, aded later.

Still, a cool mod, if done properly...
