Default Question about 1997 528i

Hello,

I may be adding a 1997 528i into my garage, as my 318ti may not be around much longer

The 528i has 60,000 miles, is in the US, and was purchased here.

Does anyone have any experience with this specific year & model? Anyone have any advice? I'm certain that it was maintained and purchased from my current dealership, so it should be in working order.

I'm just wondering if this specific model & year have any chronic problems. I'm more concerned about reliability and repairs than I am about anything else.

Thanks in advance...

Cooling system. Thrust Arms (control arms, sort of). The occasional window regulator... That just about sums it up.

crank case breather valve. power steering leaks, and the cooling systems final stage unit which controls the speed of the cabin fan. (when it fails, the fan takes on a mind of its own or just stays on low even when set on high), check the obvious as well, oil leaks, valve cover gasket, ect..

I own a 540, had it for 2 1/2 years. The 525/528/530i all have the same eccentricities as the e36/e46.
