A newer car will cost $15k and up whereas this upgrade will be in the sub $5k installed. Wanted to get feedback from those who have installed these. Any thoughts? They have plently of parts but no superchargers. The Gen 3 they used was discontinued and it's not financially profitable to retool again. Used is the only way to find one and the prices will be going up each year. That would be freaking awesome... | Short story: No there are no other SC's that fit the DASC manifold. Long Story: There are no superchargers of the MP62 Generation 3 currently made. If you can find a Gen 3 MP62 it can be rebuilt by Magnuson with OEM Eaton parts which is what they used in all their cases and I'm pretty sure Downing has all the other parts needed to assemble a full kit. Downing only used Magnuson SC's in their kits and all their tooling was for Magnuson SC's so it pretty much put them out of business on DASC's when Magnuson discontinued the Gen 3 SC. Downing looked into other options for 1 1/2 years with no luck and their position currently is retooling for the new superchargers is not a profitable venture since the M42/M44 is a older car and the demand is not what it used to be for the DASC kit. Good news is if you find or own a DASC with a worn MP62 Magnuson can rebuild it as long as the case is good. All Magnuson's SC's still use the Eaton rotors, bearings and gears, etc. For those that own a DASC or know what a Gen 3 looks like below is the Gen 4 link. Obviously it's not even close to a gen 3 so it's not as easy as making a adapter. http://www.magnusonproducts.com/mp62.htm RIP DASC | | | 09-28-2008, 09:04 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: Central Florida Posts: 678 | I think I found a website from Australia that says it "sells" the 3rd gen M62, I don't know the exchange rate but it seems quite pricey though ($2700) http://www.capa.com.au/eaton_m62data.htm If they do have a few of these in stock, maybe we can pull together for a group buy.... I doubt it was used in any production car. I think all production cars used the Eaton M62 which will not fit Downing's kit. I hope you guys find something that will work. Jim G at Downing stated he has been looking for 1.5 years for a replacement or something they could retro-fit and has had no luck.
