This number is incorrect. The part you end up with when using this number is almost 1/4" too small in diameter. Unfortunately, this number is also used by Carquest, Autozone, Advance, and Rockauto. If you need this part, go straight to BMW. I'll post pictures later of what you get vs what you need. __________________ Last edited by Entropyman; 01-22-2012 at 09:51 PM. What about the bearings? Did you source them from a parts house or BMW? AZ and most places say it's a pretty generic bearing (same as a ford 9") __________________ No more ti. | | | 01-31-2012, 12:04 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2010 Location: Roanoke, VA Posts: 472 | Thanks for the info! | | | 01-31-2012, 07:28 PM | #7 | Member Join Date: Jun 2008 Location: Cocoa, FL Posts: 73 | Bearings were no problem, I used Timken's from Rockauto. They were decently priced and well recommended. __________________ | | | 01-31-2012, 07:53 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: MD/PA/DC Posts: 1,629 | Thanks again! __________________ No more ti. | | | 01-31-2012, 08:48 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 1,464 | Let's hope that Advance Auto doesn't have a similar SNAFU with their axle shaft p/n's - I have a brand new pair sitting in a box in my garage that I'm sure are long past their return date. | | | 02-04-2012, 05:21 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: MD/PA/DC Posts: 1,629 | Is the seal #6? __________________ No more ti. | | | 02-04-2012, 07:11 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | Yeah, it's number 6. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
