Default electrical questions

setting up my ipod system in my car with my pioneer headunit, found a cable to plug into aux jacks, then i found a cord with out aux jacks and charging for the ipod, i just need a 12v switched source for power, preferably close to the radio or under pass.side dash.
anyone know a good spot?

how about tapping 12V from your cig lighter? Or what about the switched power to the pioneer? Did you splice into the stock harness or did you use an adapter?

went searching for said plug and i think thats actually for automatics cuz mines an auto and has a plug similar to that plugged into it.
i notice the guy on there also said something about the flashlight hookup.
do our cars have that too?
and if so, where is it located under pass.side dash?
is it just loose or is it bundled in the back somewhere?

There should be a plug tucked under the carpeting, near your e-Brake for the Car Phone. If not I'd just splice into the headunit harness for the switched power. I forget which wire that is though.

yeah, the compacts never came with the flashlight, it was one of the things BMW did away with for the different dashboard
