Default X-Brace on a 95 M42

Anyone running a BMW X-Brace on their 95 TI with a M42? I'm asking as a X-Brace I installed this weekend is pressing firmly against the oil pan and picking up engine vibration through the car. I'm thinking the oil pan sits a little lower than a M44 but would like to confirm.

If you have a x-Brace on your M42 TI installed, Does it have any clearance between the brace and the engine? Did you have to install any spacers to clear the brace?

I have not yet checked the motor mounts to see if they are damaged or squished, but the motor did not have the characteristic shake if the mounts were damaged, but, I'll check this weekend. I have this installed on my M44 and is clearing the engine.

Thanks for your feedback!

Cheers

Yes, I have one on my car. I was under it tonight. Took a few pictures. Noticed that I have 5-6mm of clearance all the way around my x-brace. Automatic FWIW. Need pics? Text me and I'll get the ones I took. Not a lot to see tho...just rest assured it has room and doesn't touch anything.

Thanks Sean! It make me wonder if my motor mounts are squished. (Technical BMW term). I'll check it out tonight when I swap out the x-brace for the moment. I have a pair of new Corteco motor mounts ready to drop in. It's an Automatic as well. No spacers for you? The clearance you describe is the same as my M44.

Thanks Bud! Stop calling Wake74 at church... 😎

It wasn't that bad, we sit towards the front, so there was only seating for like 1,500 people behind us who could see me be the scramble to shut off the phone guy :-)
