Default bout the 2004 m3 engine

is it possible to put a S54 engine to a 318ti? have anybody done this??? because i just recently bought a 2004 wrecked m3 and the engine are in good condition...

Anything is possilbe if your pockets are deep enough. I haven't seen this swap done before, but I would call Zionsville and ask them. They are the swap masters.

I've seen an S54 transplanted into an E36 coupe a while back...
So yeah...it is possible...

Yes it is possible. By my calculations it would cost at least 10-12 thousand dollars. With a tune and teck3 management. The biggest problem is what to do with the vanos. A new diff would also be needed.

Lots of threads on this on Bf.c.... It's been done, it's horrendously complicated/expensive, and I bet it's fun as hell to drive.

For the same money you could have a built S52 or an awesome Euro swap with money left over...

Siastuning's car is running tec3 and has the Vanos working (S54 in e36), last I heard. Forget about making it smog legal though unless your state never checks.

You mean, does he make house calls? I believe I've heard of him doing that, although I suppose it isn't cheap. There's an article in the current Sports Car where he talks about tuning strategies.

IIRC, in race tune, his engine spins somewhere around 9300 rpms at the upper limits, although I suppose it isn't 100% stock...
