I haven't seen this swap done before, but I would call Zionsville and ask them. They are the swap masters. __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 05-10-2006, 01:29 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: Long Beach area Posts: 1,189 | I've seen an S54 transplanted into an E36 coupe a while back... By my calculations it would cost at least 10-12 thousand dollars. With a tune and teck3 management. The biggest problem is what to do with the vanos. A new diff would also be needed. | | | 05-10-2006, 03:47 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Portland Or Posts: 2,666 | If he has the whole car he has all those parts..... It's been done, it's horrendously complicated/expensive, and I bet it's fun as hell to drive. For the same money you could have a built S52 or an awesome Euro swap with money left over... | | | 05-10-2006, 08:23 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: San Jose, CA, USA Posts: 253 | Siastuning's car is running tec3 and has the Vanos working (S54 in e36), last I heard. Forget about making it smog legal though unless your state never checks. __________________ Andy Chittum - Mad Man Motorsports | | | 05-10-2006, 08:59 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: Muncie, Indiana Posts: 1,551 | Quote: Originally Posted by andy Siastuning's car is running tec3 and has the Vanos working (S54 in e36), last I heard. | This makes me happy Sias does remote tune doesnt he? | | | 05-17-2006, 11:24 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: San Jose, CA, USA Posts: 253 | You mean, does he make house calls? I believe I've heard of him doing that, although I suppose it isn't cheap. There's an article in the current Sports Car where he talks about tuning strategies. IIRC, in race tune, his engine spins somewhere around 9300 rpms at the upper limits, although I suppose it isn't 100% stock... __________________ Andy Chittum - Mad Man Motorsports | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
