Any help would be great! Ok, so I just bought a 1996 BMW 318ti (120,000 miles and an auto) and I was thrilled , but less than a week later it started having overheating problems problems. So I took it over to the autoshop and there I got: New o2 sensors, new air intake valve, new belts, and a new radiator. I am still having the problems and they now say it is a head or head gasket problem and want at least $1600 to fix the head gasket. What do you guys think? I'm not sure if this is even the problem and I'd hate to waste that kind of money to find out that the car still doesn't run correctly. The overheating turned out to be the thermostat & the dealer fixed it & the window. Find an honest dealer, it sounds like the current one has no idea & is wasting a lot of your money. As a general guide, the busier the shop is & the harder to get an appointment there, the more honest he is. A slow shop that is ready to take your car immediately is going to be looking for extra problems to run up your bill. | | | 09-14-2007, 07:33 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Richmond Hill, GA Posts: 1,231 | have them give you an estimate in writing and if it turns out to be anything else thats the problem they are supossed to tell you before tearing apart anything else. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
