God dang, that's nice.

Yea, I looked very closely at my friends e30. The base plates are way smaller than the e36. So I'm definitely going to go with e34's. Instead of drilling into door frame, I'm gonna wield a piece of sturdy metal onto there. Then I will drill holes that match up to the e34's pins. So that way I don't need to drill unnecessary holes into the door frame.

Wait, so you don't want to drill holes, but you're going to weld something on? Seems a bit... counter-intuitive, personally.

This is what I found out with the e30 mirror:

One of the holes will match up. The other will slightly overlap. And the 3rd will require a new hole. If I don't create a base for the base plate, the mirror will start to wobble. So a new base will need to be made from scratch, and drill holes that actually match. Wield it onto the metal. Then dremel off the access screws. It's the only way to keep it sturdy.

Trust me, it's the only way possible that I can think of, without risking it being taken off with a nudge. The finished project wont look that bad because the base plate will be covering all the drama.

, you make the extra hole, and bolt up accordingly

no need to weld anywhere..

all you do is make sure the holes match up to where the torx screws should be. and the mirror sits flush with the door panel.

Yea, but the e34's have a smaller base plate than the e36. And it's even smaller with a e30. What about all that area exposed on the door? And what would happen if it rains?

Ah, I totally forgot about that. Thanks!

I'm going to work on the conversion after I get the rims.

I'm in the process of looking for cheap e34 mirrors. I plan to have this done either this week or next week. When I'm done, I'll tell yall how I did it. I wont know exactly what to do unless I have the mirrors in my hands.

I'm also going to be adding a secret final touch to them. I'll surprise yall when I'm done
