Default Power Rear Windows

I've been tossing this idea around in my head for a while, and decided to put it up for yall to think on.
Many other E36 2-doors had power rear windows that flip out like ours, if I'm not mistaken. Is there a way to do this to my ti? I'd like to have this feature...push button opening instead of having to lean into the rear seat and open them...a very interesting maneuver on the highway. I can reach the driver side window without leaving the seat, but the passenger window is a long way away. Are our rear windows the same size as any other 2 door E36? How difficult would wiring the motors be? I could run the switches into the center console, right? Any imput would be helpful.

It was attempted a long time ago and it was not able to be done. I forgot who arote it up, but this was when the ti was relatively new. Sorry, I too wish it was possible.

I have a smallblock Chevy in mine, there is a ti with a v12. Don't tell us we can't put a little bitty motor on a window.

I suppose anything is possibly, but it wouldn't be anything like a factory install.

I pulled, stretched, beat and twisted a smashed up Ti back close enough to resemble one. You should never leave a good ole southern Redneck in a shop on a slow day with a empty engine bay and a spare Chevy drivetrain.

There's nothing wrong with it,but you don't put a american engine in a german car. It can never be called a BMW if all its power is from a chevy engine. It like that Ford Escort on pimp my rides, they put on a bmw body to it. That pissed of alot of people in other bmw forums, hell i was pissed off.

I guess I'm just wierd in that I like the idea of a big block in a ti. I really like the idea of a 5.2 L Dodge Magnum engine (318 ci FYI). And the Escort was crap, I agree, but only because it was poorly done and was trying to be something it wasn't.

You can do whatever you want to your car but if your looking for more power why not just upgrade ur engine, not by buying a chevy engine to through in it. Seriously though if that was my car i wouldn't even call it a bmw anymore, not with american parts in it. Next thing you know chevy is gonna buy out bmw just like gm did with saab. I used to have a saab before my ti and it was a great car,but as soon as gm bought out saab the cars weren't made as good as they were.

Doesn't chrysler own Mercedes now? I noticed the Chrysler Crossfire is basically the same car as the Mercedes SLK. I think that's F-ed up.

Just because it's domestic doesn't mean it's not built well. I have worked on and been around many different types of cars. The reason domestics are so popular for engine swaps is that that are so freaking cheap to work on and get power out of. And it would probably be about the same cost to swap a Detroit V8 into the car as it would be to get an S54/2/0 and swap it in, and adding power would be cheaper. BMW engines seem like some of the most difficult engines in the world to get power out of. And saying a BMW is not a BMW because it doesn't have a german motor in it is like saying the a Delorean isn't really a Delorean because it has a Volvo engine in it, or that a Lotus Elan M100 is not a Lotus because Isuzu designed and built the engine.

Anyways, this is way off topic and we will have to agree to disagree since we both have our opinions and I seriously doubt either of us will chage the others mind.
