Default Winter 08/09

Is anyone else getting excited for the winter season? Winter is my favorite time of year since I am a snowboard fiend. I have been looking into what board I would like to get for this season (I collect snowboards and try to buy one every season). So have any of you guys that are into snowboarding looked into Burton's new EST board and binding set up? I am thinking about buying the Burton Hero 158 with Cartel EST bindings. Has anyone else been looking into a new set up for this season?

So your friend just got a new board and bindings with the EST set up? Has he actually had a chance to ride it yet? The Burton Hero just got the Transworld Snowboarding good wood top ten boards under 400.00 award.

I bought a K2 access two years ago. I only get to go snowboarding maybe once a year, so having a good all weather all conditions board was the most important thing to me... I'm also more of a cruiser down the mountain, so not worried about have a good freestyle board..

I did buy a new set of bindings when I went out to Breckenridge last year. Got a set of flow flite 3... Probably the best bindings I have ever used. So easy to get in and out of. Done are the days of sitting in the snow fighting with a pull strap.

Definitely not super high end stuff, but it works great for how often I make it to the mountains.

I really like K2 boards as well. My favorite board was the K2 Parka 155 though its old and so soft from so much use over the years. I have always liked the design flow uses for their bindings. A lot less effort to put them on and take them off. You should check out the videos regarding the EST set up Burton came up with. I am an all around snowboarder. I prefer riding the backcountry in the west and riding park and groomers in the east coast. I wish we got more snow in the east so it wasn't like snowboarding or skiing on ice.

Might go shopping today, at local fair as it's raining hard, and it closing Sunday so everything will be on closeout pricing so they don't need to move it.

It is a liquidation sale of all last season stuff? If so you should be able to find some nice deals on equipment.

Yes, it is i don't need to spend stupid money on new skis. Just want some new parabolic style vs my ancient K2's. My board is also old but I still ride it. Kemper Intruder from 1994. Yeah it's old but functions.

I was out in SLC a few years ago for a few weeks on business. I ended up going snowboarding a few times and one day me and another guy I worked with stopped at one of the large outdoor sports stores in town. They had a huge outdoor tent setup and had all of the previous year stuff marked down at least 50%.. I ended up getting a sick pair of 150$ regular priced heelside boots for like 50$..

I bought my wife a Salomon maiden last year on close our from the-house.com for 50% off as well. If you don't have to have the latest and greatest cutting edge stuff, buying on closeout is the way to go.

Hooray for snow season! Unfortunately, winter is pretty crappy in SoCal, but i was fortunate to work in Mammoth last season. I really want the new Armada ARVs for this season, but lack of funds will prob set me with something else..

I have 4 boards right now. 2 Type-A's 147 and 161, an M3 160 (no, not a bmw), and Atlantis 150. I really like the Technology of the burton boards. They have lots of money and resources to test and improve their product at the highest level. If I get another board I will probably take the Burton route...but not limited to.

Bindings have been getting crazy over the years. Super this and super that, Carbon fiber, titanium, bla bla bla..and they want as much as a board alone...maybe more with some models. I need a new pair though.

I'd really like to go out to Jackson Hole, that or Big Sky again. I love freeriding. I don't go out much anymore but hopefully this year I can get a few runs in.
