Default is the plug a single wire for the coolant sensor

I need to know if the gauge sensor plug is the one with the single wire inside of a double plug, does anyone know what I mean?

And the Gauge sensor is the one that is hard to get to correct? its the black one near the middle of the head, you almost have to take the manifold off to get to it, how stupid is that? I'm have second thoughts of buying another one of these cars.

So to sum up is the wire inside the plug the one that has one contact when you look down at the connector?

BTW my gauge hardly reads at all, and the engine has been warmed up a long time after changing hoses coolant lines, the plastic tube line next to the block, etc.

well I put back my old t-stat thinking that was the problem, still no gauge movement, so I'm going to swap the plugs, take the manifold back off....
