Default My hunt for the Great White Ti

Ok guys my 1995 is has be put through its paces over the years and I'm thinking of retiring her. I've always wanted a Alpine white chassis to swap my OBDi S52 into and recently some have just popped up.

Here's the lineup:

http://charlotte.craigslist.org/cto/2522634238.html

My offer would be 2400-2800
It would require a auto to manual swap and I'll have a OBDI setup in an OBDII car

http://charleston.craigslist.org/cto/2522153176.html

My offer would be 2200-2400 and it would require the dash to be switched to black and it has a sunroof that I'll need to remove and weld.

http://www.318ti.org/forum/showthread.php?t=33939

This car would need the greatest amount of work but its a 1995 so I'll have no future issues with the swap (not that South Carolina cares).

I think it's worth only $2000 at best (more like 1500-1700).

What does you guys think? Which one would you consider and why?
Looking to buy in the next two weeks.

IMO the first one looks to be the best deal. Looks very clean from the pics and it's already got all the mtech goodies. I realized you mentioned welding up the sunroof on the 2nd one, he mentions in the ad the first one has a moonroof as well just in case you didn't notice.

I don't know how hard the auto-manual swap is, and the OBD situation is always annoying to deal with when selling from what I've read, but I doubt you'd be selling it soon anyway.

Both of the Craigslist owners have now adjusted their price to around $2800.

The 1999 with the MTech package does have dents and dings as described by the owner. He also adjusted to ad to reflect some of the questions I had asked him.

It may be time to take a long road trip to see both of these cars for myself.

from my experience, craigslister's who use all caps locks are dealers, but you never know, just my 2¢

also, i wouldn't rush, keep looking, especially out of state. check this out, its a craigslist state wide search

It is but I would rather find a rust free chassis to simply swap everything over to. I have a rust issue between the fender and the chassis that's common on these cars.

I know it's a long way, but I just saw a white one on the Ann Arbor craigslist for 1200. Says the transmission is in limp mode, but no rust.

The 1998 with the MTech package had 3 accidents and the car still needed some body work; not worth $2900 especially with 182K.

The 1996 had spent much of its life in PA and DE which isn't any better than where my current TI spent much of its life.

The owner if the last it is trying to give me a better deal but I don't think well see eye to eye on the car's value and its an auto.
