So i'm looking into purchasing my first car
I've looked around and i've fallen in love with with the 318ti
any pointers as to what I should look for and also is there any one out there looking to sell

Yep, these pop up on Craigslist LA/OC/SD fairly regularly- just don't overpay for one, as some sellers have this impression that these are rare or hard to find cars and they are basically neither (unless it's a genuine Club Sport or '99 Sport). What is sometimes hard to find is a very clean, lower-mileage example that only had one or maybe two owners, isn't beat to hell, was never wrecked, and was regularly maintained and serviced throughout its life. Just be patient- the right one will come along. It may take a few or even several months, but it will save you time and headaches in the long run.
