Hi everyone. First off wanted to say thanks to everyone that has been a part of this board, BlueBimma in particular , my little Ti lasted me throughout my college career. With the knowledge and expertise I gained on here I'm able still able to enjoy her. Now that I am a recent graduate I was wondering if those in the automotive industry would share how they got into the industry. Tips for a newbie are always appreciated. I thank you in advance.
I was too poor to have anyone work on my newly acquired 1969 Fiat 850 convertible. Picked up a book and rebuilt it's engine chapter by chapter. In the end it worked and with the money I didn't spend on labor, I was able to buy parts, machine work and tools. I still have most of those Craftsman tools from 35 years ago.

Thanks for the reply. Since my degree and schooling was pretty much unrelated I have been trying to learn as much as I can about my own car and the industry surrounding it.
I was an electrician apprentice when I left school bought an old Vw bus found a passion for cars started learning mechanics, when I was really small my dad reshelled a 328touring in the barn only person who's not a dealer in uk to reshell one so through his contacts got me a job at dealership been with BMW 10 years now
