Hey guys im thinking about swaping some E46 M3 brakes on but from what i heard, swaping the rear brakes is not such a good idea. Would a brake bias valve to the rear brakes work? And is there any other way of swaping on the brakes without swaping the hubs? The E36 325/328 vented front rotor upgrade is fine. If you want to go further, do the E46 330 upgrade. I believe there are people who have done M Coupe rear brakes. You do not want to increase your brakes in the rear. You can work out brake bias by using different pads also. __________________ ...steven

Ideas don't become good ones simply because it is cheap to do so. In fact, it is usually the opposite that holds true.
Too much brake in the back = back end sliding out = loss of control. Leave it to your front brakes, as they provide 75% of the stopping power anyway.
Even putting M3 rotors up in the front is a hassle, with new hubs and min 17" wheels. Looks cool, but you'll just be adding weight without any benefit. __________________

I've read the "Size Matters" thread and all, but I'm still going to say that despite what others may believe, there's no way that the stock 318ti non-vented rotors and tiny calipers are going to stop better than the massive piston, larger diameter/vented e36 M3 brakes. Yeah, there's a brake bias issue. But on 3/98 and later ti's, they switched to vented rotors up front. What did that do for brake bias? As long as your fronts bite harder than your rears, you're gonna be fine. I mean, if your rears locked up before the fronts, that would be dangerous.
