Default Photoshop help thread

This is not a request thread, but more of a "how do i...".

Anyways, lemme be the first to ask:
How the hell do you shrink or enlarge a selected without altering the other layers?

Default Here is one way to do it.

I am new to the site and just came upon you question, I do not know if it has been answered or if you have resolved this but here is one answer. As you know with Photoshop there are many different ways to achieve the same result.

Use the move tool to transform a selection or entire layer or multiple layers. It is the tool on the very top of your toolbar looks like a "+" with arrows, or "V" is the shortcut. Check the "Show Transformation Controls" to see the selection, go down and "left click" (pc) on your selection control points to activate the tool, now you can transform it by dragging the control points. The fine controls for the tool is on the control panel on the top where you can rotate, control the horizontal and vertical skew or stretch the image vertically or horizontally. If you wish to just resize the image and not alter the perspective press the “lock” button between the width and height %. Once you have achieved the desired result "left click" again on the transform tool button to bring up a palette to either apply-cancel or don’t apply the changes you just made. Done!

Cut/copy it. Paste it on a new layer, free transform and go to town.
