Are all BMW e36 nose panels going to fit? Or I need a nose panel for a TI specifically? Do grills from earlier models fit?? My car is a 98 and I am thinking of putting the grills form an earlier e36. The only difference is between the years, '97+ have the newer style grilles. Edit; yep, realoem cross-referrence confirmed http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partxref....5981&showus=on Last edited by cooljess76; 07-26-2009 at 01:27 AM. | | | 07-26-2009, 03:43 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2008 Location: Florida Posts: 229 | Thanks guys.. that's what I thought too but I wasn't sure I know 97+ have the new grill but would a 92-96 grill fit my 98? | | | 07-26-2009, 03:56 PM | #5 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | The grilles are not interchangable. If you have the pre-'97 nose panel, you need the pre-'97 grilles. If you have a '97+ nose panel, you need the '97+ grilles. | | | 07-26-2009, 04:48 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | since you have to replace the nose panel anyway you could just buy the older nose panel if you want the thinner grills | | | 07-26-2009, 06:27 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2008 Location: Florida Posts: 229 | Quote: Originally Posted by tiFreak since you have to replace the nose panel anyway you could just buy the older nose panel if you want the thinner grills | Yeah that's right hahah. Not a fan of the newer style grilles so I gave my nose panel to Lazoh and my grilles to Bluebimma. I have an older style nose panel and grilles sitting on top of the car right now waiting to be installed. | | | 07-26-2009, 07:46 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: SOUTH Jersey Posts: 1,085 | I prefer the early style nose.. good choice | | | 07-27-2009, 02:59 PM | #10 | Member Join Date: Apr 2009 Location: Flowery Branch, GA, USA Posts: 97 | Cheap Grills Warning I recently bought a replacement pair of kidney grills for my '98 off eBay for $30. I knew it was risk and of course when they came it did not fit very well. You may have to bend some tabs on the front panel cut out. I had to push pretty hard and did break a few non-essential/non-visible tabs off the plastic grills but it did fit eventually. The two pieces "sandwich" the panel from the front and rear, and snap together. Hope this helps. | | | 07-28-2009, 12:06 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2008 Location: Florida Posts: 229 | I got the original nose panel... the newer for my '98. My dad bought it but it's all good I like both styles.
