Default O2 sensor mystery?

Greetings.

Been a while since I posted here... hope everyone is doing well.

Here is the picture: 1996 318ti with just over 200k. Engine has been running well and the car is generally in good shape.

The CEL is on, and it says 07 0A 0C (which I read on the PEAKE chart to be precat and aftercat O2). The only thing is that they were just replaced...? Could they really both be bad? Is there something the shop (not dealer) may have overlooked when installing them?

I don't really want to take the car back to the shop (its at my parents house which is a couple hours away), but if there is no other easy explanation I guess I'll do that.

Thanks in advance for any help on this. Always appreciate the expertise here.
