Default Cold air filter.. Suggestions??

I need to replace mine.. I want cold cone intake because I've seen car shows that suggest it as a good mod for the car. what do you guys think?? I checked ebay and they dont have any good options and barely have it for our cars..

well it's not really a good mod for our cars, you'll be lucky to see a slight increase in HP, like less than a half

that being said, it does look cool when you open the hood and gives the engine a little more sporty sound under load, I'd check out cosmoracing.com, they have cheap intakes that are pretty decent quality, just swap the generic filter it comes with for a filter from a reputable company (K&N, AEM, AFE, etc.)

Oh okay.. I didn't know you can swap the filter like that. I saw online some intake that was $48 and another one, the same company, with protection walls. It was black it looked really cool it was like $55. I'll check your link right now.
Thanks

just beware if you stick a cone filter in it can make your engine run like crap- not always but can...Plus if you just stick a cruddy cone filter without any cold air feeds you wont gain nothing, if anything you'll lose power as it'll just be sucking in hot engine air.. best bet for power is fogging ya air box (just google it or search on here) and sticking in a high flow panel filter like a K&N etc...

Yeah I've read that. It's simple but I though it would be better option. I might as well just fogg it...

Maybe if you use this butt dyno
http://kalecoauto.com/index.php?main...products_id=41

I have a conforti CAI and have noticed no throttle response, but it does sound good. I do notice better performance in the chilly months but it takes a lot to recognize the difference. Like at the end of the straight at the track where I can note my mph which is only slightly more than in warmer months.
