Default Insurance

Anyone have experience with an insurance company that will insure a 318ti for something other than on the basis of a "used car"? I've had State Farm for years, which is OK for mainstream cars, but with a niche car like the 318ti, I don't want to get in a position where there's a huge discrepancy between what they think the car's worth and what it would cost me to replace my '99. I've checked with the collector car companies (Hagerty, Grundy), and it doesn't fit their criteria. Any thoughts?

No regular insurance company would insure a Ti for more than what the book value is. The Ti isn't special enough for Hagerty to insure it too.

You could try a special insurance company such as Lloyd's of London. This is what my fraternity is insured by. They insure everything, at a price.

I figured as much. I'll just have to watch out for the snowbirds down here in FL.
