open the hood and look in the reservoir for starters... if there is no fluid, obviously check for a blown line. if you were working the steering hard, and your cooling line (? the metal one) is corroded - like mine was - that extra pressure may have blown it.... it could be possible you did something to your steering rack as well. hard to say until you look at it. i highly doubt it would be the pump, if it worked fine, they usually don't just quit on a dime.... i replaced one with my m44 and it howled like a bitch before replacement, as does my M52 one when it gets low on fluid. I have a slow leak myself. i also wouldn't recommend running it if there no fluid... if your pump isn't the issue, running it like that for long will certainly not be good for it - and probably isn't good for the rack itself whatsoever. __________________ 11/97 Base 328Ti |
