Angry 2004 Epc

I just bought the 2004 EPC on E-Bay for 10GBP (19.56 USD), includign shipping, from seller Flexautosport.

The thing that bothers me is I was the high bidder up until late in the auction, and then was outbid by a bidder with a hidden ID. I was then offered a "second chance" to Buy It Now for the price I mentioned above. A significant increase over what I had bid before. I took the deal because I want the CD, but WTF... what the hell is a second chance? To me it sounds like the seller outbid me, and then offered it to me at a jacked up price. Anyone have any e-bay knowledge to shed some light on the situation? If what I think happened is actually the case, is there any recourse for me ? Thanks in advance for the help.

second chance auction happens if the winning bidder backs out or otherwise doesn't pay.

however, your second chance bid price should be the highest price you bid, not the buy it now.

there have been reports of scams using this method, so i'd check to make sure that the person you're paying is actually the person running the auction.

Thanks for the info, but I don't think mine fits that description... I actually checked the second chance notification through e-bay's site, and it was from the seller, not via e-mail. I just found it incredibly shady that the only person who placed a bid against me did it in the last minutes of the auction, was an unidentified bidder, and then SOMEHOW within minutes of the auction ending, I was afforded a second chance... I'll probably just send a letter to e-bay or something. I mean 20 bucks is no big deal, but I don't like to feel that there's a possibility that I was cheated.
