Most of my knowledge comes from people on this board or from ripping my own car apart. In the case of the diffusor, member Jaimito79 tried to fit an M3 diffusor on his ti and said the contour was completely different. When I had my M3 donor parked next to my ti, it looked like the M3's diffusor had more curve to it. | | | 08-02-2012, 12:49 AM | #5 | Member Join Date: Feb 2010 Location: Wichita, Ks Posts: 86 | glad to learn this the easy way rather than the hard way, i grew up on bmws my dad and i used to tool around on the '87 535i that they bought b4 i was born, and when it got too tired, we bought a ti for me to drive. So far we've done a heck of a lot of work on it and ive learned a lot, and ive become so attached to my ti in both the fact that it is one beautiful machine, and all the work we've done/bonding time. i plan on keeping for as long as i can. __________________ '74 2002ti (Departed) '82 320is (Departed) '87 535i (+360k Departed :'( ) '88 535is (200k en-route to being reitred) '98 318ti (150k Active) '04 330ci (Newest Member) | | | 08-02-2012, 06:26 AM | #6 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Well looking at the list of cars in your signature, I can tell you that you're right at home here and you'll be an asset to the 318ti community. As you've probably already learned that by design, the ti is kind of a mish mosh of e30, Z3 and e36. Heck, mine even has e24 parts on it, lol. Back when I was in the Navy, one of my buddies had an e28 that was a true Frankenbimmer. Thing was so wacky, it was held together with F-14 parts and fasteners. We used to joke and say it was half BMW and half Grumman. | | | 08-02-2012, 07:24 PM | #7 | Member Join Date: Feb 2010 Location: Wichita, Ks Posts: 86 | lol, yeah, i have an e24 rear diff in my car, my old lsd (from a clubsport) had some issues so we swapped it out with an e24 lsd and e30 flanges + axles. and an e28 will run forever if you let it. __________________ '74 2002ti (Departed) '82 320is (Departed) '87 535i (+360k Departed :'( ) '88 535is (200k en-route to being reitred) '98 318ti (150k Active) '04 330ci (Newest Member) | | | ![Reply](http://www.318ti.org/forum/images/buttons/reply.gif) | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
