It needed some repair (broken pieces). I have completed the repairs but can't get the drive posts to fully insert in the roof channel. I pull the roof forward and push down on the roof as hard as I can but the drive pulleys don't go all of the way into the slots...so the roof doesn't open. It binds up. Does anyone have sage advice on what I can do? | | | 05-18-2007, 01:17 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Saint Paul, MN Posts: 3,244 | Mallard recently posted a pdf of the reinstall process. Have you searched? __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 05-18-2007, 02:18 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Quad Cities, Iowa Posts: 2,110 | How bout the dealer? I know its a pain but if you have all the parts then you would only pay for the labor. __________________ "Drive Fast and Take Chances" | | | 05-18-2007, 03:07 AM | #4 | Junior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Milton, Fl Posts: 10 | Thanks for the answers I did download the file from the TIS. It doesn't really cover the dismantling of the canvas roof itself. I am going to recover my headliner next week. I will probably be able to see more once I take out the headliner. I was just wondering if there was a secret short of removing the roof itself. To answer the "going to the dealer", not unless I absolutely have to. I use them only for alignments. I do all of my own work on both of my BMW's. My other one is much more complicated...its an 850. | | | 11-11-2018, 10:08 PM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Oct 2018 Location: va Posts: 4 | Where do I find cali top parts anyone help please | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Thread Tools | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
