After a 10 hr day starting at 3:45am. I got home took a nap and was going to run down to the gas station for a soda before I started some work in the garage. At the gas station I shut the door with the window down and the rear driver side clip came off track. Then on my 5 block trip back to the house I am pulled over for modified exhaust and WI plates. (Dusten I swear I'll change the registration, but if Officer Buzzcut calls, I'm a respectable member of society and I voted yes on every referendum that increased funding for law enforcement. ) I didn’t have any paperwork for the car with me. After a 10 minute interrogation the office let me off. I hate Monday. Now I really need to find a "good" smog shop in the area. And I'm happy that on my last order with Pelican I had them throw in 2 extra clips. I'm really starting to love hate this car. __________________ | | | 02-26-2008, 06:46 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: LA, Bellflower, CA Posts: 3,613 | dang man. sounds like you had quite the afternoon there. is your exhaust even loud? isnt it a borla or something? so what did the cop say about the WI plates? anyway dude, if you wanna get rid of the exhuast ill take it lol jk. so hey you up for the next meet this time... __________________ -Theta Chi- Float like a cadilac, sting like a BIMMER .... my socket is just too thick and won't fit in the hole! damnit! Do you have to see the state ref? If you dont think its that loud, just leave it on and it should pass the desibles. I in the other hand, i got pulled over and got the modified emmision system for the supercharger. I have to get my car smoged now. I'm getting pretty quick at fixing them. I've replaced 3 sets of clips and the entire passenger side assembly. If I ever make it to a tech meet I'll be the window guy. __________________ | | | 02-28-2008, 09:38 PM | #8 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Cool, well if the window keeps coming off track when you slam the door with the window down, it's not the clips, it's the forward or aft vertical guide that needs to be straightened __________________ 4 MORE YEARS BABY!!! | | | 02-28-2008, 10:32 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: SoCal Posts: 305 | I have much to learn master __________________ | | | 02-28-2008, 10:38 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | wax on, wax off __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 02-29-2008, 01:44 AM | #11 | doesn't care about you. The Bosal Exhaust is 50 state legal, go through the paper work I gave you and there should be a certificate in there stating it's legal. The supercharger is also 50 state legal and smog approved, whatever that does for you. The cat has a lot of miles on it, so I don't know how effective it is.
