I ordered a new temp sensor, replacement bulbs for my cluster, a Bentley manual, and new switches with bulbs for my headlight and fog switches. Both of my switches are burnt out. I will finally be able to switch my stock steering wheel for a m3 steering wheel. Since I will be removing the steering wheel it will be easier to remove the cluster and replace the bulbs. Also I order new Rockford composite speakers to replace the stock rear speakers. Looks like I will be really busy next weekend. | | | 03-05-2013, 07:08 AM | #2885 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: Sacramento, CA Posts: 2,451 | I found a pair of black ti's at the yards today, a 95 and a 97. Both looked to be Actives. Clean bodies on both. I replaced the front and rear black/dull gray bumpers on my 95 with black painted ones in way better condition from the 97. I'll paint the rocker panels this week. (No more gray!) Nice difference. Picked up a drivers window regulator and vapor barrier for the 95 and a M44 airbox to Fogg for my 97. No LSDs. Both rear subframes were deinstalled and there if anyone is interested. (Trailing arms missing) The 97 had Sandgrau cloth front seats in good condition, but needs a good cleaning. The 95 had a black leather passenger seat I'll have a non-M black rear bumper for sale/pick up if anyone needs one. __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org! Treatment started two weeks ago and I'm not excited about this one so I'm "cleaning house", literally. It's on AutoTrader in south Florida if you want to look at it. | | | 03-05-2013, 04:17 PM | #2887 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Jax, FL Posts: 541 | Campione, Stick it to the cancer! Waiting to bleed air from the cooling system on the E30. For the first time in I don't know how long, none of my cars have any warning lights lite. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 03-22-2013, 02:26 PM | #2890 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2008 Location: Auburn, Alabama Posts: 206 | Pulled my head off last weekend, got it resurfaced and pressure tested this week due to a blown head gasket. Funny thing is, it didn't overheat, but the machinist said it was warped 0.009". Goes to show, never assume it's straight. Going to start bolting back together tonight , should be done by the Sunday night. __________________ -'98 318ti -'87 VW Scirocco, 2.0 Motronic swap -'95 VW Cabrio | | | 03-22-2013, 04:10 PM | #2891 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: Sacramento, CA Posts: 2,451 | Were you able to measure or verify the block surface? __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org! When I looked at the headgasket, it wasn't cracked or anything, so I pretty much assumed it could be a head issue. Regardless, I think its dumb not to get a head resurfaced and pressure checked if you're going through the kind of trouble, especially with an m44, replacing a head gasket. Cheap insurance. He did machine it 0.012" though, so I better get the timing on the money. __________________ -'98 318ti -'87 VW Scirocco, 2.0 Motronic swap -'95 VW Cabrio | | | 03-22-2013, 04:55 PM | #2893 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by UberWagen Pulled my head off last weekend, got it resurfaced and pressure tested this week due to a blown head gasket. | Funny how that sentence would read on a non-auto related forum. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 03-22-2013, 05:09 PM | #2894 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2008 Location: Auburn, Alabama Posts: 206 | Quote: Originally Posted by 1996 328ti Funny how that sentence would read on a non-auto related forum. | http://static.tumblr.com/sxlt8ln/epU...d-fall-off.jpg __________________ -'98 318ti -'87 VW Scirocco, 2.0 Motronic swap -'95 VW Cabrio | | | 03-22-2013, 05:35 PM | #2895 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2013 Location: New York Posts: 133 | Stuff I've ordered a few things and look forward to installing them. 1.
