The owner said the governor has been removed. Everything else is stock. It has spare motorsport wheel and not just a normal donut which was kool to see My only fear is ill start fixing this car up too and drop loads of money lol. By next year I plan on owning an Alpine White E46 M3 so I don't want to start dropping money on the car when I rather save it for an E46. I have always wanted an E36 M3 cuz they're sexy but I always figured instead of spending $7k on one...just save it for an E46. But for $2,600 I can't see why I shouldn't keep it. The exhaust on this car looks stock but it sure doesn't sound like it. Sounds beefy as f*ck! The car also had a full front leather bra on that looked retarded. I took it off to take a better look at the paint lol. | | | 05-04-2009, 02:44 PM | #4 | Member Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: SW Michigan Posts: 90 | This is a wide question to answer. I owned and wrenched a 1995 M3 for several years selling it in 2006 with 42,000 miles on the clock. I'd suggest: > research common problems with E36 M3. Remember, 1995 was the only OBDI car, 96- on were OBDII. Early build 95's had suspect valve retainers and depending on build date, had a ridiculous under-hood fuel filter placement that was later changed. > decide if you want to keep the car long term or flip before you get out the checkbook. This will definitely affect what you will to do to the car. At 150,000 miles, its likely the car needs a lot. Plus, it depends on how nice you want it to be. > I would never buy a car like this that doesn't have a well documented maintenance history. Mechanical and electrical problems can be endless. > All body panel VIN number stickers in tact? These are just a few suggestions to consider. They are fun to drive but are more complex than the Ti. Not a car to own if you're not a DIY'er. _Rick | | | 05-04-2009, 03:07 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Wisconsin Posts: 1,895 | I'd say its a good deal for something to drive, but that color would make it a little harder to re-sell. Much easier to sell silver, or black. __________________ ... ʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ | | | 05-04-2009, 03:25 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2008 Location: Raleigh/Charlotte, NC Posts: 1,233 | Ill give you 3 grand for it right now if you want to make a quick few hundred bucks __________________ -Jeff | | | 05-04-2009, 05:18 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: Memphis, Tn Posts: 1,299 | Buy It!!! I say go for it. For that price you can't beat it. I would get and keep it if you like after driving it around for a few weeks. If you don't you can always sell it and make a profit. __________________ custom dual exhaust,M3 front and rear bumper, 10.4 inch roof mount drop screen, Viper alarm system, DSII's rims, M3 Vader Seats, M3 Mirrors, Carbon Fiber CAI, Smoked Corners, Side Markers, Leatherz armrests, black grilles 225k miles and still the Ti goes on | | | 05-04-2009, 07:52 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: çî†ÿ øf åNgëL§, CA Posts: 5,314 | My dad is a mechanic so no worries there. Carmax inspected and there was no frame damage or accidents. I checked out the titles and it was cleaned. I talked to the owner and he said he has put money and has been keeping it in good condition. He did tell me they tend to break down but I know this already. He told me nothing was wrong with it. He has had it for 9 years. My friend checked it out and he said it runs good. When I go to work right now they should already have my safety inspection done. So ill talk to the mechanic and see what problems he found. Other than that car checks out fine. I'm excited I cant wait. I might even get this tonight or tomorrow for sure if safety goes well. Anyone know how much those ACS parts cost? | | | 05-04-2009, 07:54 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Austin Posts: 3,059 | Wow dude, buy it! I'm sure things in cali are a lot more expensive compared to the other state. The cheapest m3 here in the atx goes for $6,500, and that's without mods. If you do plan to resell it, i'd be glad to buy it off of you for the right price for both of us __________________ Come get a ti-shirt Quote: From the e30 M3, evolved the e36. I am about to buy the exact same car, minus the ACS stuff... Thats a hell of a lot cheaper than the one I'm looking at. The only difference is that the one I'm looking at is from my best family friend who has owned it since day one. And has replaced almost everything and rebuilt the engine. __________________ | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
