So, this kit is supposed to be legitimate? I have been trying to hunt down a DASC for ages, but if this is a quality alternative I would consider it.

Not sure about the quality of the whole thing. It looks like the whole kit is just a bunch of pipes/hoses, turbo and bov... Did anyone ever get one of these kits here? Was it reliable? I feel like $1200 is a fairly substantial amount of money to blow on something hitch at least at first sight looks cheap and crappy, but I may be wrong.

When they are throwing around various 350hp figures all over, telling you you gotta upgrade your fuel pump and all that, seems pretty sketch to me, but it may be just me, the second I notice something off, I run.

I used this Ebay guy for my turbo parts. I hand selected what I wanted so this kit has a few things I don't use. I have installed this exact kit on a 318ti members car and it worked fairly well. I don't ever like using a RRFPR on any BMW FI setup since the DME does not adjust timing and open-loop AFR is way off. I like larger injectors, M3 MAF and some other things with a tune made for boost. 350hp and you motor won't last very long. I run a M42 block, M47 stroker crank and M44 head. My weakest part are my rods which are rated at 5--hp constant with spikes much higher. I have boosted in the high 20's and made stupid HP/TQ for a 4 cylinder. For a stock motor in good condition keep the boost around 15psi and you will be right around 280hp. 14psi of boost doubles your HP/TQ since you are ramming in twice the atmosphere pressure, add twice the fuel and you net twice the HP (Kind of a ruff way to estimate HP). The piping is standard not fitted so you need to make the cuts and assemble your piping (Easy if you know wwhat you are doing) I still have A/C in my car with 3" piping so I'm very happy with my turbo. Also remember Superchargers take up to 40% of your HP off the front crank pulley while a turbo might take 5%-10% of power lost in exhaust restriction

In the mean time, I managed to get the car running pretty damn well, just occasionally throwing a P1174 code, but I suspect I gota nail down the PCV leaks (replace it using an OEM chevy unit) and make an intake system in that thing (like an actual cold air intake, as opposed to a cone filter 5" away from the engine), so some fabrication might need to be in order, I might even throw the ASC back in t here). I managed to make it idle rock solid with a refreshed ICV and a set of ICV plates that I made.

As far as the ebay kit is concerned, I feel like the turbo unit might be good, the BOV might be alright (I know nothing about those things), but as far as the rest of it goes its like you said - the RRFPR is not ideal and other pieces can be had for a lot less money.

My advice in the case of anyone being serious about doing something like that to their car is get a good turbocharger, and make a solid exhaust manifold (replicate it or get one well made), some injectors, MAF, and have a method of tuning the car as well, or at least have a map in mind. I wouldnt assume a $1200 ebay system would have everything I need to make it run well, or last long: your car + that thing might just end up on craigslist as a 'project car' after youre tired of dealing with all the random items that go wrong in it.

I agree on most thing but would like to point out the OBX manifold is very well made and I have not heard and one cracking, that manifold is a custom fit that allows you to retain A/C which is real nice.

PCV I use 3 older style PCV valves to make a system that creates vacuum when not in boost and as soon as you go into boost it opens the crankcase to atmosphere. This system stopped all oil leaks on my car. I ran boost pressure into the crankcase by accident one time and it blew out my oil level stick and dumpped over a quart of oil in one pull that I logged...
